The Chronicles Of Miss Ashford - Her Birth

Contributed by Crimson_Rose on Monday, 18th October 2004 @ 07:27:18 PM in AEST
Topic: FamilyPoems

It was the 18th of January 2001,
This chilly, winter morning
Mrs. Marie Ashford was speedily drove to a hospital at a bleak 1:12 am
Her stretched belly was pushed to the ultra limit

Marie Ashford will soon give birth to a triumphant being
Her painful screams bounced off bare, white walls
She was rushed into her private delivery room
There, in an agonizing twelve hours, Avalon Matreya Ashoford was born

Days after, Marie spent several hours,
Admiring the day she would take Avalon Matreya to her real home
She held her child lithely in her bony arms,
And stroked her rosy cheek

The driver carefully drove the twisting road,
It’s destination ended at the breathtaking Ashford estate
Avalon cooed and softly laughed, as her mother tickled her stomach
Marie’s eyes lit up with the most endless happiness

Avalon was laid into her periwinkle crib
Her small body scrunched, and ready to sleep
Avalon’s petite head surrendered to the fluffy pillow
Her eyes beautifully shut, falling into a dream world

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
