As if I were some rag doll
I guess it's really all my fault
For being the nice one
For caring for everyone
But mostly for not standing up
You see, I don't like to be mean
I like making people happy
But that just isn't enough, or so it would seem
To give up my opinion
To help with every problem
But mostly to sacrifice my happiness for theirs
And yet I still get trampled on
As if I were the enemy
But if I stood up just once, they would think mem selfish [comments] => 5 [counter] => 167 [topic] => 61 [informant] => Kie-Kie [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 11 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => selfstruggles )

I know how you feel. I get the same types of thoughts sometimes. What can you do. Do not dwell on those thoughts be who you are.

Girl, I have lived this. The main thing to realize is that taking care of yourself is a healthy necessity not selfishness. Once you get beyond that, you can learn to say "no" when it's appropriate, and to help out when you can. I'll say a prayer for you. You can get there with God's help.

Wow. you took the words right out of my mind. Hopefully we can both find the courage to stand up for ourselves more often.

I suffer from the same disease. On very, very rare occasions - I find temporary relief from its symptoms (per our forum chat... as you know, this occured of late - but I assure you it is probably short lived.)

You know what, Kiela --- I'm not so sure that I'd want to be cured. Seriously.

And you.... you are that breath of fresh air and you are lovely for your kindness. Not in spite of it, dear - because of it. It can be a bit of a burden, I know--- but the alternative is just icky (and... LOL... that's the NICE WAY to put that!).

Hugs -n- niceties,
SNM
