Change Change

Contributed by Rxqueen on Monday, 18th October 2004 @ 03:14:26 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

Your love is a token I keep in my pocket, jangling with the change
change that needs to be made everyday
change I need to survive.
But you, you never change.
I believe that people can, but you, you do it too slow.
You grow up too slow,
the pace of your change is as slow as how I make mine.
Your face is not in tune with your heart.
You beg to be older, curse the hands of time that bound you to twenty,
yet you beg to play like a child.
You learn your lessons time and time again,
but they somehow slip away like my spent change...
Therefore, not learning, not growing
you cannot change.
So for now your love is a token I keep in my pocket,
hoping it will learn from the change in there
And hoping you will learn to change for love.

I like the imagery you used in the first part... I really liked that. A lot of conflict in the middle, I got through it, hopefully I changed. But it's also a little bit mean, A token of love that you're just keeping in your pocket, with pennies... that would've made me sad. Good write.
