Disconnected and disjointed
Familiar in only my own perverse silence
And only there

Hiding alone in my personal sandbox
Got my head hidden under my pillows
Still waiting for the death of anxiousness
Still childish enough to think it will come

Looking out behind hidden eyes
Peeking into a world where I should belong
Yet still lurking in the shadows
Hoping something will force me out

Still waiting for a hand extended
Still trying to recapture carelessness
Still wishing I could change the world
Even though I'm still just a little girl

Counting on the adventures of others
Vicarious is the only life I lead
Still little sister to all I've known
Still something hidden and contained

Still sitting quietly waiting for approval
Trusting in all visible and not
Can't quite shake the illusion
Though it's been home for far too long [comments] => 4 [counter] => 179 [topic] => 13 [informant] => MysticFireFairy [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 10 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => DarkPoetry )
