See sorrows reflection staring back
Mirroring my emotions, hear my sighs
My hard exterior is ready to crack

Hiding away in my dark, cold tower
Alone and afraid, not knowing which way to turn
Fighting so hard not to relinquish my power
Trying to stay strong, unable to learn

Unseen forces tearing apart my soul
Doing me wrong, breaking me down
Always there to witness my fall
My face a scowl, my brow a frown

A restlessness creeping over me
Allowing my persona to dwindle away
Changes are needed immediately
If in this body I wish to stay

Hope for the future and love in the air
Are things that will convince me to remain
My heart on my sleeve, my soul laid bare
For all to see, my distress, my disdain

When the sun does awaken, I gaze at the new dawn
Feeling refreshed with vigour and zest
To stay or to leave? I'm not really torn
I'll fight my demons and then I can rest [comments] => 4 [counter] => 459 [topic] => 48 [informant] => AliB [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 10 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )
