exploding inside;
it’s been several months
since these eyes truly cried.
Hold it all in,
it’s what is done best;
eagerly waiting
for eternal rest.
Reach for the knife,
a comforting tool;
wondering how
people are so cruel.
The blade, so sharp,
like a shard of broke glass;
depressing emotions
overcome to the mass.
Sit in a locked room,
search for old scars;
feelings of triumph
come from marred hips and arms.
Euphoric release,
all that is wanted;
diminish the hurt
by which one is haunted.
pressing the knife
against wounded skin;
drag it across,
feel it slide in.
Tear a large gash
right through the flesh;
blood starts to seep,
love it when fresh.
Fluids gush like
a crimson stained river;
observing a vein
that had just been severed.
It is then realized
the cut is too deep;
not wanting to die,
beginning to weep.
the desired relief
is replaced with more pain;
the sick, morbid cycle
begins once again.

Weeks worth of torment
exploding inside;
it’s been several months
since these eyes truly cried.
