(for once... yes)
as I lay watching the screen.

We all sat silently,
waiting for what was so special
No one knew

His picture showed up,
a song was played
As the nails were hit into his hands.

Watching the pain,
that the actor portrayed,
made me think what He had to go through.

Taking the sins and pain
of us all,
I couldn't do that,
Could you?

Pure voices were singing,
Mine joined in too,
Singing the hymns that we learned

Singing of Christ,
of his strength
of his love,
for all of us living on this earth.

The voices sang stronger
Through the still of the night
Some broke into sobs as we sang.

Who knows all that
he had to go through for us.
That night, that time, that life.

My sobs joined the others
in a whole new song
soaking my shirt as i cried.

I'll never forget,
the love that i felt
as His arms wrapped around me that night.

I forgot to write this before, but this night, I was at a camp.
After campfire, the girls were separated and placed to go on a hike (it was pitch black).
The hike was nice, but at the end, we came to a large, open space.
At that place, we were told to sit down and wait. So I did.
The slide started, as I said, and when it ended, there was NO SOUND. A few voices broke out in a song, and as over 100 girls sang along, we cried

Jesus the original hippie! I'm not religious but do believe a really humble cool guy named Jesus walked this earth years ago. It sucks what other human beings did to him. Some humans seem so cruel and I'll never begin to understand it.
