Most people think he痴 just in my head,
Why will no-one believe me?
Do you only believe in things you can see?

He is real & he comes to me at night,
Filling my entire body with such fright,
I lat stiff in my bed hugging my pillow,
Hoping that one day finally he will go.

Leave from my world, spare me my sanity,
Stop whispering into my ear all his profanity,
I have never seen him but I hear him breathe,
I doubt from his hiding place he値l ever leave.

Sometimes I am scared to take a peek,
So around my room I very quietly creep,
I don稚 dare wake him as he will be mad,
& what he値l do to me will be very bad.

He strikes into me so much fear,
I know when I sleep he will always be near,
I am terrified of the monster under my bed,
I fear if I ever wake him I値l end up dead.

Awwww Pixie... we all have monsters. Call me crazy... but... I didn't find myself shifting back to childhood as I read this - but... considering my biggest fears (the ones that I'm not so certain I'm ready to confront). They do seem bigger at night... and, I think, we're less able to deny they are there when we find ourselves alone with them in the dark.

Thought provoking... and honest.
Nicely done!
