Array ( [sid] => 67039 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Leslie [time] => 2004-10-11 21:00:03 [hometext] => This is dedicated to my grandmother. She just passed away on the tenth of October. She was the strongest women I know and I am truly going to miss her. [bodytext] => She looks so peaceful and calm as she lies there and rests,
As I look around and see every ones' hearts breakingin their chests.
My gorgeous angels' breath is getting terribly slow,
She seems so helpless, but this she'd never show.
I'm getting more scared as the minutes pass by,
I can't believe the strongest women I know is going to die.
I hear people's tears falling to the floor as they look upon her face,
My head is pounding with the dimming sound of her hearts pace.
My mind keeps racing with that big question.... Why,
Why does she have to die; why does she have to leave us behind,
And as I franticly search I finally find the reason deep in my mind.
It wasn't fair to her to feel so much hurt and pain,
And yet I continue to cry as I play with her hands vain.
While sitting by her side I see the wrinkles disappear,
Even though we're not ready we realize the end is near.
Grandpa and I know as she takes her last breath,
That our beloved one has been overcome by death.
But this is not the end; I will carry on her name,
And this I promise to her: I will not put it to shame.

I will make my grandmother proud of me. [comments] => 4 [counter] => 202 [topic] => 48 [informant] => loulou [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )
