to talk
you don't care what I say
when I want
to speak my mind
you look the other way
I stand up here
infront of you
to say what I think and feel
you laugh and point
and leave me standing
like my thoughts aren't even real
you always tell me
not to smoke
and not to drink and drive
I open my mouth
but you don't hear a thing
you act like i'm not alive
I want to be heard
and voice my opinions
so everyone will know where I stand
i'm tired of always
being ignored
so I don't ask, I demand!
I demand that you treat me
like everyone else
though I am only 15
I demand you make
my opinions count
I want to be heard and seen
your going to hear
what I have to say
my thoughts will bloom and glisten
there's no more of me
not being included
your finally going to listen!

A powerful write.
Breaking the bonds of servitude, in a relationship, raising to the fight, and demanding for the right to exist rather than be nothing but a shadow of who you really are.
Awesome poem, I enjoyed reading it.

good for you!!! age is not relevant.....feelings are.....we all live by our life experience .....and fifteen is a lot of long years waiting for someone to get a clue....sure...you've got a long way to go....so do the rest of us.... :) ....be proud of your voice and never lose it.....embrace your strength.....and never stop writing....you communicate and manipulate your words well........
