Array ( [sid] => 66684 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => The Arrow [time] => 2004-10-09 04:39:09 [hometext] => Well, I just did something very shameful and I felt guilty, and I suddenly came out with this poem. It's about guilty people who desperately try to pass the blame to a non-guilty person and as a consequence, his/her reputation is marred. Enjoy! [bodytext] => Have you ever been burned deep,
Felt like you are turning into ashes,
Consumed by the amber fire of fury,
Burning like a fiery world of hell,
As you begin to direct the arrow towards,
Your alleged spell caster of the spell,
Who is anyone but yourself?

Have you ever felt like the arrow,
Causes all the doors around to begin,
To slam shut, locked perpetually,
And you stand firm on your ground,
Pushing aside the senses within you,
Hoping that you will not be found,
Again, by your annoying rational mind?

Have you ever felt that later the world,
Consists of only and soley judges,
Assisted by their sight, the juries,
Who paint your life with their verdict,
Of the horrendous choice of colours,
And you live in the habitat of a convict,
The empty room of a square?

Have you ever failed to seek an exit,
Failed to escape the bricked four walls,
Failed to point the arrow at someone else,
Failed to draw credibility to your 'truth',
Failed to make the echoed verdict invalid,
As you waste your life, all your youth,
Within the dimension of your misery?

Have you ever begun to question why,
All the uninvited parasitic creepers,
That eat your joy to satisfy their hunger,
Thrive well on the ground of your life,
Bringing your life from right to wrong,
Hurting your spirit worse than a knife,
Slowly, sucking life away from you?

Have you ever tried returning home,
To your senses that cries out to you,
And clear the clouds in your mind,
And begin to see clearly that the arrow,
That is acting like a child without a home,
As you hide away yourself in your sorrow,
Is actually looking to point at you?

And I think sometimes we humans,
Only look to pass the red hand,
To another whose hands...
Are not red...

And I know...
It runs in my blood too... [comments] => 10 [counter] => 199 [topic] => 63 [informant] => ronald [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 34 [ratings] => 7 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => hbadday )

I think this is a very amazing poem. You use imagery to tell the story of the conscience well. In my opinion the arrow hits but its impact is diminished when we lesson it's affect. Great write!!

You totally gave me the chills! That was so real. I know exactly what you mean. It is so much easier to blame someone else. You will find a million excuses why... but in the end you will have to face the truth that it was all you. I really liked this work.

You certainly know much about human nature, and yes, I've been there many times.......not having the courageous to confess.........then when I felt so guilty with remose, I decided it would be easier to the truth! Hoping that you will not be found,
Again, by your annoying rational mind?

The logical mind can be a scary thing. It is usually in the wee hours, when the clutter of life slips away that I realize the arrow was meant for me.... and you're right, we usually don't want to admit it let alone see it.

Interesting piece... insightful and thought provoking. Keep writing....
