When the nights puts gloom upon this land
And when dreams and memories begin to blend
Then I listen to the nightingale
When oblivion begins to last
And I get rid slowly of the past
Then I listen to the nightingale
So many folks enjoy its song
Its velvet tunes can do no wrong
When I listen to the nightingale
How I know it has been years
Since its sweet song touched your ears
As the Moon shone on your face
I was locked in your embrace
Soft and sweet, its lullaby
It's unseen by the sleeper's eye
As it wakes my smothered dreams,
Gives way to my buried screams
Then the night breathes in and hears
The magic reflections of my tears
When I listen to the nightingale
Then the East preaches orange red
And I can finally forget
That I listened to the nightingale

This was very meloncholy. I thought it was about the soothing sounds of the nightengale, but it was deeper than that. Therapy is therapy, whether we ask for it or not. ;o) Very succinct. Kudos!

Isn't it strange how the smallest thing---a smell, a bird's song, a color---can plunge you back into feelings that were buried and forgotten? Bring them to life again as if they have never died? You have explored that phenomenon with color here. Very nice.

I think it was the american indians who said "God is nature" how right they were.
Beautiful.

I much enjoy the poetic metaphors you employ.
Then the East preaches orange red
Excellent wording, I think. And the tone of this is very enjoyable. Something not quite, completely, of this world (or not as we tend to see it). Perhaps there's a touch of Elvendom about it.
Now I'm philosophizing...
Well done!
