Array ( [sid] => 66482 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Freedom [time] => 2004-10-07 15:25:52 [hometext] => This was a poem that I enjoyed writing. How I feel when I go for my runs. Hope you enjoy! [bodytext] => My feet pound a steady rhythm into the tarmac.
It’s dark out and I can hardly see;
But I don’t care.
I know not where I’m going,
So how can I get lost?
My mind is blank;
Concentrating on nothing
but the road ahead.
I gain a sense of freedom.
The ability to escape the world...if only for a few hours.
All by putting on a pair of sneakers.
Am I running to something?
Or from? If so, what?
Not sure anymore.
All I know is I don’t want to stop;
As soon as I do, I have to return.
Back to the life I lead.
The one in which I’m suffocating.
The lies, deceit, betrayal.
This is the only way to avoid all that.
So for now, I’ll keep running;
Without a care in the world,
Until there comes a time,
When I can’t run anymore.
Not even to escape temporarily.
