They are what give me strength to swim,
They wake me up deep into the night,
Hold onto my whole body so tight.

The stirrings come from a love so true,
A love that’s kept alive by me & you,
Every day I wake up with you lay there,
I just can’t help it I have to stop & stare.

At your eyes as they flicker as you sleep,
Apart from your soft snore I can’t hear a peep,
I have to sigh & then I smile,
Being with you is more than worthwhile.

My soul lives & breathes as do I,
When I hurt it is that which cries,
You awaken all of my six senses,
Loving you I can let go of my defences.

These stirrings feel like butterflies fluttering,
Or the soft tones of the angles muttering,
I have never felt these feeling before,
They never came knocking on my door.

That was until I met you, my sweet,
I love you because you make me complete,
Now to me, love is not just a 4 letter word,
I can feel it all around me like a beautiful bird.
