Array ( [sid] => 66123 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => It's Just The Who I Am [time] => 2004-10-04 20:54:41 [hometext] => I hope this will give some ppl insight into who I am and will get them to thinking about who they are and how their life has touched others as well... and if there's more than just this existence in which we live... comments appreciated... [bodytext] => Who am I?
I wondered so thoughtfully
And how do I fit into this world?
Am I just a human being... just an ordinary person?
Nothing special at all...
Just one made by God's own hand
Upon which He can call?
One placed upon this earth
And thrown into the vastness of this large pond of life as a pebble
Only to create ripples that touch other's lives
As they struggle to stay afloat in a world that is drowning in the sea of sin
Just the same as I?

As I pick up my pen to write this little prose
I intently gaze into the mirror of life
I find that indeed I have created ripples
And touched so many other's lives
Hopefully all in positive ways
But I'm sure that there have been some negatives too
Which only goes to prove that you can't have the good without the bad
That's just a little known fact of life that's all so very sad
It's just the who I am... and want to be... maybe nothing more than you already see

The who I am?
I am a child of God...
A believer in Christ
I believe that there is a God
And though we can't see Him
He is always near to guide us through all the situations this life provides
The things we sometimes find ourselves plodding through just to survive
One day I'll have to stand before Him
Like every other person will have to do
To give an account of my life
And answer for all the things I've done
I'll know it's not personal, but it will be sad
If I hear Him say not the words, "Welcome, my friend, well done."
Because it's just the who I am... and want to be... maybe nothing more than you already see

The who I am?
I'm somebody's child...
A daughter... of loving parents
A sister... of siblings who care
An aunt... of nieces and nephews with whom all my love I share
A niece and a cousin... of all my aunts, uncles and cousins that I more often than not do not get to see
A friend... I try to be to all the many strangers that I so often meet
Because it's just the who I am... and want to be... maybe nothing more than you already see

The who I am?
The who I want to be?
An artist... to sketch all that I see
A poet... to write all the things that are hidden within my heart
A teacher... to teach God's wisdom and knowledge to impart
A singer... to lift up my voice in unison with others to praise His holy name
It's just the who I am... and want to be... maybe nothing more than you already see

If there is more to this life I lead...
Than just the who I am... and want to be...
I know nothing about it...
I am only who God created me to be...
There's no changing what's unchangeable...
'Cause it's just the who I am...
