Array ( [sid] => 66083 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Broken from bullying! [time] => 2004-10-04 11:48:49 [hometext] => Today my friend was picked on but there was nothing I could do about it. The teacher just watched it! So we walked out!. Today triggered a memory. This poem is ‘the’ memory. I did break before so now all I can do it cry about today... I feel so broken! [bodytext] => Sit your self down for lesson.
Do what the teacher expects.
Do your best to listen,
When CAN’T ignore those threats.

Tolerate the names,
Whilst you’re trying to do work.
Ignore what they say.
When they tell you there’s NOTHING you’re worth.

Take all that bull,
Knowing they’re MAKING you fail.
Close up when you’re name they call.
When you just wanna break down and wail.

Let them throw things at you,
Then watch them laugh if they don’t miss.
Watch the teacher hating your self,
Praying the teacher would notice!

But no such luck of course,
‘Coz nothing works for you.
So staring down at your lifeless corps,
You feel hating and broken and used.

Wishing some one could love you.
Wishing they wouldn’t start.
And if you come forth they’ll get you!
‘Coz they’ve only got evil little tarts!

So it’s one thing after another.
It’s just some thing more to take.
There’s problems at home from your brother,
And you’re really about to break!

I am so sorry for your pain, bullies are nothing but scared peo[ple underneath all their hate and agression. Standing up to them is the only way, but it is easier said than done I know... your poems are always very emotional and honest, thats what I like about them and your style,

takecare

pixie xx

Interesting write... your piece makes me wonder if I have ever bullied anyone (I know not physically, but maybe verbally) and I hope that I can say I'm sorry.

talk about triggering, this hits home 4 me more than u know, and the worse part is, it doesn't end
in the school yard, little bullies grow up 2 be big punks, and if that ain't bad enough, parents as well as society perpetuate this by standing by and doing nothing acept trying 2 explain what bullies r,
which doesn't help much when your the one who must face these subhumans every day, till one day
the proverbial straw that broke the camels back is
finnally reached, and then it's pay back time, "COLUMBINE STYLE " or your local " MAC
DONALDS " and then theres always the good old fashion stand by, " TURNING THE OTHER CHEEK " trust me, i can relate verry well 2 what your going through, and i hate 2 paint a bleek picture 4 u, but theres verry little one can do till we as a society start putting programs back in school that teach young boys, theres nothing wrong with poetry, or music, or any other form of artistic indulgence . . . just hang in there i'm afraid thats all one can do, by the way, excellent peice of writting, keep it up, the pen can be mighter than the sowerd when used right, even bullies need a place 2 hide, if no where else, but in them selves.

good luck, Dorian : )

Yep, brings back some crappy school memories for me as well. My father had died of cancer when I was 9, my Mother soon remarried and I had to change schools(we're talking rural schools where everyone started together in kindergarten. Here I was this developing too quick 9 year old, a stranger to everyone, with acne and oily hair. Man it sucked. I too stood up one day when I got sick of it. But I went through a lot of crap before I got to that point. People are just mean sometimes and you got to be strong and be better than them. Me being picked on and the way the world is today are just a couple of reasons why I homeschool my daughter. She can learn without listening to a bunch of ignorance. Much peace to you. I wish I could come to your school and hang out with you for the day. I'd love to chit-chat with your bully classmates.

This is so hauntingly beautiful and tragic, and I am so sorry you had to endure this.
The street kids I work with nearly all have a similar story.
Thank you for sharing this
