And drag me out
Break me down
And lay me out

I’m past being able
To pretend you can’t

Turn the key
And open the door
Release the valve
Let go some more

I’m not even going
Try to stop you

Swing the hammer
And break the glass
Rip the seal
Forget the past

I won’t get in
The way anymore

Move the curtain
And look inside
Peer through walls
To where I hide

I’ve forgotten how
To be coy

Lift the cover
Remove the veil
Pull me out
Let me wail

Yes, incredibly yes,
I’d tell you

ummm ok. sounds kind of like truth telling time..someone told me to ask him any question the other day and swore he'd tell the truth. Know what I asked...his password. Be careful. lol

I think the thing I love best about your writing is that, in addition to having a wonderful way with words (alliteration unintended, lol), you are brave. You are, whether you think so or not. To have the strength to write this, and the sheer guts to post it, awes me quite as much as the poetic virtue of this poem. Wonderful job, hon, and stay as strong as you're being :). I know you can.

OMG. this was so good. so many pictures, memories, flashed thru my mind as i was reading this. Its a horrible feeling to just give up, let the person take advantage of u bc ur just so sick of fighting. I'm really sorry...:(

Raw and powerful. I believe in letting a person know who you really are, without the façades, which we humans are always ready to toss up to keep people from getting truly close to us.

Excellent piece.

To be able to let someone in like this....sigh.....it changes your life.
May the connection stay strong forever.

Wow! Talk about letting it out...you certainly did in this poem.

Timbo
(finding it incredibly powerful and beautifully penned)
