Array ( [sid] => 6586 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => what it takes, (2 versions to this poem) [time] => 2002-11-12 20:00:00 [hometext] => well there are 2 versions to this poem, one is shorter, and the 2nd one is an extended version, both should be pleasing to poem readers, enjoy............ [bodytext] => Version I (short)

if i were to die tomorrow
would you care
at my funeral, would you be there?

would it take death for you to see
how ungrateful you are
what does it take?

friends
the good ones dont come easy
some people cherish and respect
but others dishonor and neglect

some people realize they're mistakes
but for others, death is what it takes

-------------------------------------------------------------
Version II (Long)

If i were to die tomorrow
would you even care
at my funeral, would you be there?

would you cry, would u regret
or try despertly to forget?
throw out the movies we saw together?
during sunny or sh***y weather
act like nothing happened
not remember one good time we had
or how fast we got over the bad

did i make an impact on your life?
or was i just another face
a shadow on the wall
someone you couldnt talk to
when you would stumble or fall
did i ever make you smile
or was i just a pain
that you couldnt avoid every once and a while

why wasnt i worth keeping around
was it my reputation or my occupation
someone not worth the time of a relation

was i someone you could always tell the truth, and know i would understand
if i ***** up, would you be able to forgive me?

friends.....
the good ones are hard to find
some people cherish and respect
but others dishonor and neglect
ft

I wish i knew why your not here now
i wish i knew why Im not by your side
i wish i knew what it took, to turn your head
to make you listen to every word that i said
but sometimes theres nothin you can do
and the person has to realize their mistakes
and unfortunately, sometimes, death is what it takes [comments] => 3 [counter] => 220 [topic] => 43 [informant] => wil_ca [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 15 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => oops )
