I watch the leaves waltz as they fall

turning and spinning
they have a life all of their own

The wind gets much fiercer
blowing away the summer in it's effigy

Jack frost comes nearer
whispering chilled melodies

(chorus)
Autumn song, Autumn song
Tucking in the summer long
The prairie sings of colder days
The seasons play their melody

The geese are now leaving
I hear the melodies they sing

Chicks now strong enough
to fly above under mom's wing

The rainbow of the fall season
covers the ground with it's glow

reds yellows golds and browns
signaling the time of the cold

(chorus)

I can't believe the summer's o're
I look back nastalically

On the times that I've had
they brought me such great memories

The plains will soon be white with snow
nature speaks so fluently

I can't stop the winter from its coming
I must face the future with glee

(chorus)

As usual with your writes, I wish I could hear it being sung. I love the picture of the leaves waltzing. Autumn is one of my favorite times of year. Just perfect weather. GLORIOUS days. Makes me dream of heaven.
