A fascinating subject for some...
For others... it's a thing to be toyed with
Something to be thrown around like a rag doll torn and maimed somehow
It can sometimes be inspired
It can sometimes be blue
And sometimes it can be deeply pierced by a word or two
That cuts like a knife to the innermost chord
Life balancing on a double edged sword

There is a rainbow of color to describe the heart
Each a facet; representing a specific part...

Some hearts are red...
They don't love at all
'Cause they're filled with anger and rage
A hate for one and all

Some hearts are orange...
They do not love just one or even a few
No... they love many...
On fire all the time for someone new

Some hearts are yellow...
Cowering in a corner; letting no one in
Afraid of taking a chance
Taking a cowards way out in the end

Some hearts are green...
Filled with jealousy and greed; not a pretty sight
Had love in the palm of their hands
But somehow screwed it up late one night

Some hearts are blue...
Depressed by life and all they have been through
And the fact that they may never find love again
At least not anytime soon

Some hearts are purple...
They are strangled by life
Deprived of what makes them feel alive
In their uneasy strife

Some hearts are gray...
Damaged beyond repair
Hearts that are slowly dying
'Cause they loved a few and got stung too hard to care

Some hearts are black...
Stained by sin; these hearts let no one in
'Cause they're already dead
Killed by the pain of the sin that is still attached within

Some hearts are white...
These hearts are clean and pure
Very few can be found in this state
That is for sure

Some hearts are of pure gold...
These hearts are willing to help others in times of need
No matter what the cost is
If necessary, these hearts are willing to bleed

Some hearts are just multi- colored...
They are filled with all that life has to offer
All the facets of life rolled together
Sometimes making life a bit harder

All these hearts mark the journeys they are on
With a rainbow of colors...
