A nuisance of a child poking at me with a long stick…
Hours of endless ramblings,
Drilling useless facts in our already-putty minds…
There is nothing left to teach, Tyrant…
You go ahead and bang that ruler,
We still won’t listen…
Concepts of dead mathematicians,
Theories that have been already proven…
A prison, this horrid place,
Nights of studying and over-working ourselves,
We drag our wretched bodies the next morning,
Deprived of sleep, eyes drooping, minds malfunctioning…
There is only so much we can take.
Over-ruling, strict regulations, harsh consequences…
Another brick in the wall,
Another worthless slave to the highest King…
The Warden disapproves of your pathetic efforts,
You must be punished…
No.
No more of this ruthless cruelty!
We shall go against all rules, all Tyrants…
It’s almost time,
The clock is ticking, humming its annoying song…
Anticipation thick and putrid,
Overwhelming us…
A shrilling cry from the red face upon the wall,
And we are free…
The bird can stretch its weak wings,
The harassing child, destroyed, gone…
We are unrestrained, boundless,
Relishing the sweet air, the warm touch of the sun…
We arrive to our dwelling,
A happiness we only feel once out of five days…
Finally; two whole days of liberation,
To do what you wish,
To be who you want to be…
However, on the last day,
In your dark room, comfortable in your bed,
Reality smacks you in the face,
And you realize,
The horror will begin once more…
You will be the helpless bird in the cage again,
The worthless slave of the Tyrant,
The unimportant brick in the endless wall of Education…
A repeating game of torturing the mind,
And how they enjoy it!
Imprisoned once more,
For a crime we may never know that we committed,
To endure this abuse forevermore…
Never will we be free…

Freedom from the halls and rooms of instructional institutions may come soon ... but then the painfull imprisonment of employment takes its place. Another fabulous write, chère fleur. Just remember how much influence "The Wall" had in providing you the ability to express yourself so.

You took me back in time. For a long time I had been saying that I wish I could go back and get that education that I didn't get . I played around to much and hung out with friends. as you can tell in my writing that I am telling you the truth. You described it very well. be reading more of your work..... sandy
