[bodytext] => I don’t know how I’m supposed to feel
the experience is new.
I suffered through years of acid rain,
but never felt this blue.

Tears come unexpectedly
with songs I often hear.
The man I loved, though far away,
still feels so very dear.

Within my heart and soul I find
a place for him I keep
wrapped safe in my subconscious
where longing lingers deep.

I shuffle through my routine days
an effort to move on
the way he has not missed a beat.
No tears...at peace...long gone.

My friends tell me to let him go,
pretend we never met;
and though my head accepts the truth,
my heart cannot forget.

It lies in wait. I’m helpless,
remain shaken to the core.
My heart, you see, despite past pain,
has never been broken before.

So, before you judge and say I’m wrong
to pine over what wasn’t real,
understand that this pain is a first for me
and I don’t know how else to feel. [comments] => 5 [counter] => 224 [topic] => 22 [informant] => Patricia_Petro [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 18 [ratings] => 4 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LostLove )

I hope these written words have helped to release some of your pain. Thanks for having the courage to share this with others. We've all been there...

What is the saying? 'Tis a better man to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all... Those who have loved well have fulfilled their purpose on this earth. Well done.

I have yet to be in a relationship so all I can compare it to is a friend moving away or a relative dying. I hope though that you can move on and find some one new, even then from what I have heard the pain never truly goes away, you just learn to manage it better.
