I could have but you stopped me in my tracks.
Took away my chances,
smothered my possibilities..

I could have lied and cried about it,
scraped and screamed about it.
But i died inside alone.
Witherded away to nothing.

----------wait------------

I cant begin to blame you,
i see that i had choices.
The bus that stopped outside,
I could have taken a ride...any time i liked.

I could have used a million keys to escape..
But i didnt.
I couldnt.
I was weaker than i wanted to believe.
I was far more afraid of myself than i was of you.
I hurt myself more than you could ever do.

And thats the truth.
Thats why i am who i am today,
Because i was scared to really try.
You gave me great excuses. [comments] => 3 [counter] => 161 [topic] => 61 [informant] => x_midnight_x [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => selfstruggles )

sometimes there is no need to blame someone else or even ourselves, it just happens. blame is one of those things thats easy to push off or take, but most of the time shouldnt exist because of the situation.

Great write, it's good that you figured out that we can't always blame others for the path we choose in life. The others we blame are usually just are way out, and give us reasons and exuses to do something oppisite of what we should.
