wishing we didn't tonight
feeling lathargic and sick
longing for energy to come quick
feeling angry inside
he just wants to hide
regretting what happened
our lives are saddened
longing to be close again
he walks away and we're in pain
I try to speek but he won't look at me
for about a week I'm history
I feel like a blocked drain
the fight I remember leaves a horrible stain
other couples happy makes me so envious
thinking do they ever fight or is it just us?
at last we're talking
only in that dry uncomfortable tone
yet we answer happy when someone rings on the phone
at night we touch and finally forgive
saying we'll never fight lets be friends as long as we both shall live!
