Array ( [sid] => 65266 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Angel of Mine [time] => 2004-09-26 19:42:09 [hometext] => This is about my very good friend Mandi (or Amanda) who passed away in December 2003 [bodytext] => Angel of Mine

I hear a ring
pick up the phone
No one's around
I'm all alone

I hear a voice
on the other line
You speak those two words
Amanda died

Burning tears
slide down my cheek
I open my mouth
but i cannot speak

I am silent
don't know what to do
Then I hear you
softly whimpering too

We talk for a while
then hang up the phone
I'm so scared
so lost
Just want to be alone

I'm at home in my bed now
not making a peep
Thinking of Mandi
as I drift off to sleep

My eyes slowly open
the sun's on my face
I look out the window
at two squirrels playing chase

It doesn't seem real
feels like you're still here
But as i think more and more
it begins to get clear

God why did you take her
steal her from us
Stop her heart so fast
turn her to dust

Did you have a reason
I don't understand
Is she with you right now
holding your hand

Maybe you did
need her with you
She had a purpose
needed to follow through

Maybe it was her smile
that lit up the world
or maybe her dancing
how she spun and she twirled

I have one request
or maybe two
Two favors two wishes
that I ask of you

Please keep her safe
would be number one
Let her be free
to live and have fun

And last but not least
is number two
Let her never forget
How much we love her so true

I know she's in heaven
Hopefully on cloud nine
I will never forget her

amazing. powerful. emotional. compassion can be the greatest light in a life, or the very darkness of it.
