People cry & love burns,
Something is always going on,
Someone’s always singing their song.

The world turns as we silently sleep,
Never stopping to comfort us as we weep,
No matter what’s going on the world moves,
But yet it has nothing really to prove.

It’s just like a merry go round,
That orbits in circles without making a sound,
Sometimes I feel quite dizzy from this ride,
But the constant movement never subsides.

People die but the world misses this,
It never sees a teenager’s first ever kiss,
All the while carrying on about its day,
Nothing or no-one can stand in its way.

If the world did stop would we know?
Would we notice if it lost its flow?
Or would we miss when the world needed a hug?
Or maybe we would just carry on & shrug.
