That man who believed the Word of Vedas
Who lead his life in the path of righteousness
Who never spoken a lie, always truthful in life
And who was the incarnation of truth divine
Whose soul was pure like sun-fire left this earth.
Almost ninety-four years he did live as a sage.
He’s my father, a loving spouse to my mother
In his form I have the vision of Lord of universe
In my meditation he appeared as Siva of Kailas
Once he taught me that no one should lament
For a departed soul for life on earth is transient
Due to the attachments of world, souls take birth
In truth our souls are identical to the Eternal Lord
Such a great soul my father; when he heard
The call of Lord, like a swan of light taken flight
Towards Kailas the abode of Siva the great God
And united with the soul of Siva the lord of universe
To him the supreme soul of bliss consciousness
To him the supreme light of absolute existence
To my father who is now one with Siva, Lord of beings
My reverence and homage with flowers of devotion!

Dear Venkat, kind Sir and dear friend and Poet,
I'm so very sorry you had to tell your wonderful father goodbye, Venkat! He said not to lament, but how can you not! When you love someone with all your heart and soul! His loss will take quite a toll.
I wish there was some way I could help alleviate you of the pain.
I will miss you dear friend, and please know how very sorry I am!
Poetic hugs with much sympathy

This is so beautifully scribed, Venkat. I am so terribly sorry to hear of your loss. Clearly, your father shared his faith and wisdom with you. I do hope that his gift brings you some comfort during this difficult time. Surely, nothing we could say could ever compare.

Thinking of you,

Venkat,
I pass through here but once every while.I could not walk from here without sending you my deepest sympathies.
Clearly his wisdom is ageless as is the memory you will always have. You are his keeper now and so he will live on in every rememberance of him.I will light a candle and give thought.
This is a lovely heartfelt tribute..and I imagine penned with tears.

A drifter I may be but always a friend

Sharon

Dear Venkat, This is a poem that had to be written. Your father was an extraordinary person. This poem will help to keep his memory alive for your young ones of your family. You must speak of him often to them, tell them of his life and enjoy the memories and, also, remember humorous things and laugh. Love, Bizzy

Your devotion to, and love of, your parents is a direct indication of the man you have become because of them. In this age, loving children are often quiet about the quality of their parents character and contribution to their lives. Congratulations on a beautiful piece about your father. Equally, as inspiring as the one I read about your mother. May God cast His blessings on you, and yours.

John

lDear Venkat Sir!

As the last and so belatedly I join the foregoing commenters with my condolences which ought to be congratulations and cries of joy and triumph.(My husband also passed late September. (Oh Beautiful September!)

Your hymn of Homage to your esteemed father is well heard in the whole universe and heightens the Glory of God Almighty.
AMDG (Ad Majorem Dei Gloria) is what followers of the Judeo Christian persuasion say, - but in HIS sight it makes no difference under which name He is loved and adored.
Your father is in Him and rejoices over your magnioficent tribute while waiting for you to join him in the arms of BOUNDLESS LOVE.

Be blessed!
Thanks for sharing this incomparable hymn with us.
Elizabeth
