He works late on every Friday
But all i wanted was his kiss
Our daughter she layed down crying
On the way to the funeral home
She hurt so very badly
She didn't need to be left alone
On the way i passed our favorite Wine Pub
There you stood in jeans and boots
What i saw broke my heart into pieces
I just watched and then i knew
I looked down at our daughter
Who was staring directly at you
You were busy kissing another
I can't beleive your such a fool
She opened up the car door
And she walked right up to you
She said daddy what are you doing?
What happened to i love you?
I walked up and grabbed her shoulder
I said baby let's go home
She said no mommy let me finish
Daddy really needs to be told
The other woman left us all standing
As she cowered out the front door
And you looked so disapointed
That your night now was ruined more
Our daughter said my dear daddy
I needed you so bad today
My best friend died this morning
But now all i want is you to go away
Look what you've done to mommy
You were supposed to be home by now
I'm going to do what you've done to mommy
I'm going to leave you forever, now

This is very sad, but a good poem. It make me think about my relationship with my father, which is nonexistant.

I had to tell you how much this touched
me and broke my heart. Maybe it reminded
me of my own father but this is really
a great piece of work and I can't imagine
anyone not being touched by this.

That was a wonderful poem... It makes me think about my own life... I don't know my biological dad, and I have a horrible relationship with the dad I've known all of my life...

oreo you will never believe this but the exact same thing happened to me 2 years ago my father ran away and my best friend died he was no where around to help me. i wish he was there for me but somtimes things just don't work out the way you want them to i really enjoyed it . now i have to go get a klenex and wipe my tears away
