And there’s this look that’s a lot like smiling

Like you’re falling as this slips

Into a new kind of blue

A new kind of sky

And it seems like this rain feels a lot like you

We can’t escape the storm under a sky like this

A tragedy that seems to insist

And I’m haunted

And I know I should try to wait

And I know you see me through the veil

And I know I’m a little late

Or maybe just too soon

I’m not quite sure

But I know I miss you

Did I ever think of you?

Yes

No

I never tried to reach you in your minor key

Or touch your nirvana…I promise

You tried to crystallize me

I’m too unreal

I kicked the moon further down the street

She landed in a puddle…in a way I may be trying to drown her

Maybe then the pain might not feel so concrete

I know you can feel me staring

Through the curtain of my hair

You turn your back without caring

And I should be going home

Tell me why I’m still here

Just forget everything

There’s nothing you have to do

Just stay with me a little while

As the rain turns my hair a darker black

I gaze down at my feet

You turn your face towards the sky

If you’re looking for the moon…

She’s somewhere down the street

Wow! It's not often I come across a totally fresh perspective. Unusual imagery. Sad and beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing.
