With words from my heart
So filled with love
Yet blackened with betrayal
First love is most memorable?
I think not
My first so called love is the cause
Of this open, bleeding wound
In my back, from her knife
Yet, this wound is healing
From a love so real
Yet so difficult
My definition of love
Is a relationship tried and tested through time
That will always hold strong
We will have many challenges, dear love
And we will set them ablaze
Like so many bridges
Through this we will conquer
And walk through the flame
Because love conquers all
Life and death
Through life and death

On the contrary to your comment, I think it makes a lot of sense. Bravo, and thanks for giving us all a glimpse at your heart.

I like what you wrote indeed. AFter all, if we need not ever been affected by love, experienced it, then life itself would be pretty plain. so you have learned by time and time again, you will be still loving in all of lifes terms.

mason don't listen these bunch nancies. screw form and technique, let the writers keep their form and grammar. to the poets their own i say, F*** the rules and the system, do what you like and write how you please. because if you don't like how it sounds or feels is all that matters. this was one helluva poem and you are everything a poet should be. don't censor yourself and don't let others censor you either.
