Endless Pain

Endless Pain

I'm packing away these memories
Forgetting what will never be
Moving on from what I didn't have
A future with you that started in the past

It doesn't matter if it wouldn't have happened
That door is closed forever
Shut and locked with heavy metal
Locking away opportunities
And never existing memories

What I used to be
Is a part of me
I must leave
Or I'll be reliving
What has happened
Getting trapped
In my past again

Feeling causes endless pain
But without it we can't live
Something has to give to be taken

This endless pain
Has me tainted
I can't lock it away
With heavy metal
It never fades
It's all I go through
Since it won't go away

I'm lost to it
Now and forever
It has me tainted
What the past has created
Is the end of me
In endless pain
As a memory

This was brilliant and written very creatively.
These two lines really jumped out at me for
some reason
Feeling causes endless pain
But without it we can't live
Its so simple and true. Once again I enjoyed
this.

Some pain is so deep inside us that it becomes a part of us. It's almost like without it, we wouldn't know who we were. Beautifully written!

I feel the same way sometimes. The way we deal with pain often shows what type of people we are.

I love the wording...honest, and something I should say to someone myself...

When it feels as if the soul has been ripped from within, we are left with an ache that seems to be eternal. Yet, just when we think the shades will never lift ... they do and the cycle begins once again. A tragic write that blends emotions with a dying hope nicely. Enjoyed!
