Burning me inside
Burning me till I die
The reflection of my appearance
Shows what's inside

What's within
Is burning desire
To die
My heart is singed
From this fire
Blackened like night
With no hint of light
The fire burns me till I die

Ashes left behind
From a former life
Burning till there's nothing left
Ashes of what I used to have
Once upon a time

The light left my soul
For forever more
Nothing was left within
Goodness left to be sin
I lost everything that mattered
While dying one day at a time
Only darkness fills my life now
The light in my soul burned out

Left alone
Dying on my own
Like my soul
Died before

My desire fulfilled
When me it did kill
Ashes left behind
From the nothing inside [comments] => 6 [counter] => 206 [topic] => 36 [informant] => Essentially9 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Suicide )

I liked how this was written. I also liked the
constant use of the word "ashes" because to
me it symbolizes all that you once had is now
gone. Beautifully done... not sure what else to
say.

i found this very well thought of, most people talk of external influences in their lament.
A well written piece.
