When Rhyme No Longer Has Rhythm

All these pages with written words and emotion
of sunsets, sunrises and flowing oceans.
Thoughts released in simple verse and rhyme
have laid bare the feeling in this heart of mine.

Childhood memories, some bad...some good,
would I go back again .. if I could?
Many years between now and then,
no, I wouldn't want to go back again.

My days of writing have come to an end,
life is taking me around another bend,
I've shared my life and most of my dreams
What's left inside... will remain unseen.

A tiny bit of me I'll keep to myself,
it'll not be read in a book on a shelf.
Certain parts of me are private at last,
the pen no longer fits in my clasp.

Someday what's wrote may come as a shock,
when some readers see what I am.. and what I'm not.
A woman who wrote, what she felt inside,
when she had no one else to whom she could confide.

The words all truth, of hopes, passion and love
and a strong belief in the God above,
My words flowed steadily... like the endless sea,
and now like air... I've set me... free.

Bon Voyage, adieu, fare the well, and, I hope, the pen is just put aside, not put away.

Thank you for sharing all that you have.
This was a wonderful write, it would be a shame to lose your words forever.
Hoping you'll come back to the pen one day.
Peace.
