In a sprint, there goes my son
As fast as his little legs can run
Barely as tall as a blade of grass
I chase him upstairs to get a bath

After washing the hair on his head
I start to ready him to go off to bed
Brush his teeth and dress him right
Tuck in him the covers tight

Read him a story about a little bear
Snuggled in close, to show I care
Turn off the light and whisper a song
He’ll be off to sleep before too long

This little boy in all his glory
Begs me to read another story
Of course I do, then I tell him goodnight
These precious moments makes the world seem right

I feel that this poem is a little blecch

I basically found no way to identify with this piece. The lines are cliche throughout. You're not saying anything NEW here. I sense the ability to be more creative than this. Why aren't you giving your all here?

"Barely as tall as a blade of grass" like hes real small then

"After washing the hair on his head"..bad..where else..unless hes a hobbit with hairy feet

"He’ll be off to sleep before too long"...yeah I bet
