gone in a moment, lightning flash,
no thunderous warning and yet.

Distant rumblings, like the far off
pounding, arterillary seige of
fortress heart. Trust is gone,
jealousies rage.

Loyality questioned, friendships
borne, leaving thoughts unadorned.
Who is who, what is what, voices
falling like torrents of rain, racking
in the human brain.

Hidden meanings, stolen thoughts,
rememberances of times gone by,
ignoring, exploring, watching fear
take hold. Being brave, growing old.

Accusations, reasons more, told to
friends whom they adore, backstab
whisperings by the score, hidden on
the side.

These same themes lingering on,
building from the past storm, ripples
into waves, pebbles to mountains,
pounding heavy in the mind, whispering
warnings by the score, tempest
raging with each thought.

Lines now drawn, friend or foe,
who to trust, who to let go,
voices in the darkness grow.
Silence of the dawn.

Heavy is the broken heart,
of tempest storms of the soul,
mind unyielding never bent,
launguage form Babbles tent
longing for no more.

Stillness, quiet, peace of sorts
no longer talking, no worries of
who consorts, interest dwindles
thoughts lie in dust, ashes to ashes
of a will of no trust.

Tempest of the soul.

Trust is like a piece of fine handblown glass. Once it is shattered there is no piecing it back together. It will never again exist. Gone is the belief that it ever existed.

As i was reading your most interesting and thought provoking poem Chris, this is what I was thinking..........."tis so nice to be old....who cares? Finally after all these years, let them form their teams, some for you, some against you........matters not when you are old and wise. Someday they too will understand what the most important thing in the whole world is just to be a friend......to yourself........and be healthy....and stay alive!!
Loved this poem...one of your very best I'd say!
Love
