on the ivory skin...
swinging through the air
we're dancing here
today.

Leaves fly across our path
and your angel's wings
lift me up
above our pain here
today.

Empty rock pastures
fill our days and nights;
here alone
sing the words of pain
today.

Black smoke drifts
from the holes in the ground,
our voices climb
this pile together here
today.

Rotting vehicles that once
carried true and we're
broken here too,
and there's nothing to do
today.

Black angel wings
wilting as we sing;
Black angel wings
oh they're BLACK ANGEL WINGS...
here so alone,
wilting as we sing,
black angel wings...
today.

Moth eaten umbrellas
that can't hold out the rain
lie dusty
in the muddy floor
today.

And the ashes rise
to obscure our reflection;
we're alone
fighting the weight
today.

Chipping paint and cracking walls
threaten to fall in
on us,
we're holding them up
today.

Forest full of dying trees
and falling leaves
to litter
our trodden path
today.

It's our empty field
to burn our hopes and dreams;
it's black
seeps into our eyes
today.

Black angel wings
wilting as we sing;
Black angel wings
oh they're BLACK ANGEL WINGS...
here so alone,
wilting as we sing,
black angel wings...
today. [comments] => 3 [counter] => 168 [topic] => 34 [informant] => waos [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => SongLyrics )

You write to much Kara and I can't keep up
with you! Anyway this was beautiful and I
could imagine it as a song. So sad though
and the structure was amazing. I'll comment
more on your other poems later.

You definitely have a gift.

Good, no, great lyrics!

Well done!
