and the dock beneath me creaks softly.

The planks are still warm
as the balmy breeze
that blows my bangs over my eyes
as I dial your phone number.

Out here I can see every star,
every pinhole in the darkness,
and every car floating along the bayway.

There is only a blue glow by my ear
and Christmas lights that illuminate the dock.
A single strand stretches across the bay to make a bridge,
as if it was plugged into the other side.

I hear the waves ripple against the bank,
filling the awkward silence.
The sound of your voice
and the lazy lapping of the water
dull my senses into a dreamlike longing.

Lying on my back
looking at the sky,
I wonder if you can see that consellation.

It's our astral connection
over the distance,
our reaching to remember the summer. [comments] => 3 [counter] => 179 [topic] => 24 [informant] => lunablue [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 15 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LoveRemembered )
