I prick my finger on a thorn.
It starts to cry,
and blood drops to the floor.
Set on a cold stone.
Weathered in the rain and snow.
Depression drys it out.
The once beautiful red fades to grey.
And the velvety petals grow coarse.
As they fall,
she dies away.
A hurtful memory,
ready to forget.
The screaming cries die today.
I bleed no more.
The rose is broken.
No thorns, no petals.
I set it upon her casket,
as a memory of me.
A last goodbye,
And the fleeting thought,
that I drowned today.
In the blood on the ground,
next to her grave.
