and found to your amazement and complete disgrace,
the person you thought you knew has gone without a trace,
and a strangers eyes are before you staring into space.
Who Am I?

The thoughts and opinions you once collected
have disappeared and can't be ressurected,
you're standing alone feeling rejected,
open and vulnerable, so unprotected
Who Am I?

The things that once mattered that you set out to attain,
have floated on past you down the gutter into the drain,
and my life will no longer be the same
and this person before me is the one who's to blame.
who am I?

I am the illness that lies in me
i have no control all is free,
there is no escape or sanctuary,
how could this ever happen to me?
Who Am I?

I am this stranger you all see,
even i do not know me,
Alzheimer's my curse no cure for me
this is now who i am,

I've never known anyone personally with Alzheimer's, but I know it must be a very scarry lot to be dealt. This was a wonderful description of this terrible disease and how it literally takes everything we've worked our whole lives for.
