[Note: new name courtesy of Eve =D] [bodytext] => there is a crack in the wall
but I do not see it
for we look askance as we pass
and only the ill-bred
dare let their eyes follow--
we pave it with euphonies
and there is no crack
because they say there is none.

and though the screams of saints
echo in the emptiness
as they die a thousand times
for what they never lived for
there may or may not be a smile
in the eyes I hide behind

I'm understanding now
I am becoming now
I -- am passing by.
I am beginning now
softly am fading . . .
we slowly forget to ask why.

and I am singing swansong arias
from quiet little caught-betweens
but Mother always said
that mine was not a singing sort of voice
and children should be seen and never heard. I, too, fell in love with this poem, especially it's flow and purely stimulating and inspiring nature.
Brilliantly written, a work of art.

Well... I, for one, would rather read this than your essay! In fact... I've read it multiple times already and am certain that I will keep reading it over and over and over and...

This, dear Nora - could be placed along side the works of great poets and would shine brighter than most of the others. This is a masterpiece. It is simply glorious. I adore this... for more reason than I could probably ever tell you.

Utterly amazed by you,
SNM

Even though you stated that you should be writing an essay for English---you have in a way expanded far beyond what anyone could imagine in an english class.

I have always thought you had remarkable talent, an old kindred soul and a gift towards expression.

I believe you will go far Nora.

I'm not only impressed with this latest poem i'm really enthralled.

You at times make me cry or smile because your poetry is so rich with true emotion.

An excellent poem.

Kie

*officially loves this poem*

Makes me horribly sad and kind of bitter, but it is thorougly beautiful. Which in itself makes me determined to have my... Beautiful Thing. :) (preferably before the end comes, but hey, I'll take what I can get. lol)

You are so friggin' smart. It's annoying. lol. Love you to bits,

~ Dee

Once again you scaled the wall to perfect honesty and emotion. I think that old adage "children should be seen and not heard" is like putting them in a box and molding them into a square with no chance of ever going outside the boundaries and finding who they really are. This is a thought-provoking write. Why do we always have to stay within the lines and use the proper color?

Wonderful. For some reason I can hear some big-time diva singing this really expressively with soft, slow music behind her. That's how much I love this!

I have to agree hunni. This is amazing. I love how your poems make me think so much.
But...my favourite part has to be the ending. It finishes t off perfecly.

Great write hunni,

Excellent, excellent work. You're getting to be marvellously expressive.

And I like the new word. Let's start a petition to add it to the dictionary, eh? And we'll quote this poem as an example of its use.
