[hometext] => remember the wtc, the heroes, the victims, and the loss...still recovering, america...
[bodytext] => Boots September 11, 2004 After the disaster Caused screams and streams Of tears, fears, and futures put to end I thought about when When the heroes rushed in To save the survivors They took off their boots In exchange for the suits Firefighters going to work Harder than ever before To bring their people some relief In exchange for their grief They hung their boots On the fence of Trinity Church Before sprinting to the scene To start the never ending search By the end of the day Hundreds of pairs Hung on the spikes, a reminder in the air Of all of the heroes still helping in there Still hoping for a miracle To bring to one more family On September 12th, a day after the shock A nation still trembling, a city still numb The country was silent, in waiting and prayer To bring us some answers, to what we all fear Those heroes that ran in, when everyone fled for their lives To the center of disaster, and began to shout Their boots hang unclaimed still on the gates, Of the heroes who went in, but never came out.
