Grief
|
My face goes numb.
I cannot feel.
This scene before me
Can't be real.
His body limp,
A gun nearby.
I can't believe
He'd want to die.
I cry and dream.
I won't believe
My only son
Would make me grieve.
"I hated life,"
The letter said,
"I couldn't face
What came ahead.
I did not complain
Or scream or cry,
I never really wanted to die.
I'm sorry mom
I caused you pain,
But one day I'll
See you again"
