I think im dying, or maybe just going insane
my nights are captivated by the thought of death
my mind wants to know , when is my final breath?
But this paranoia is unsatisfied
The threads of my life are tightly tied
Strangely I dwell on the things I don’t know
Will it be swift and painless, violent and slow?
Like a disease for which there is no cure
Its creeping and brooding and coming for sure!
Its sneaking behind me and round the bend
I beg and plead but still it is not content
I scream and fall and run the other way
My feet are sluggish but what can I say?
Im running from something I cannot even see
Perhaps ive gone crazy, perhaps ill never be free
Im still alive for now, but can I live in this childish fear?
Each day awakens the terror, each week, each month, even year!
This isn’t working, no it isnt at all!
I cant live with this obstacle of fear, this wall
But what can I do? Im helpless in this matter
I feel as mad as that strange little hatter!
Watching the clock, afraid of everyday things
Afraid to pick up the phone when it rings
God save me please, I cant take it much longer
Perhaps if I were brave, perhaps If I were stronger
But no, I am weak and frightened oh so easily
If only I could eradicate the problem, but the problem is ME!
Death will find me, I know it will
So I sit huddled next to my boarded windowsill
And here I shall stay, safe in my home
Here I will be, safe and alone
Here in the dark and cold, all alone…..
