over all of these years
a place for me to hide
so no one can see my tears

but it was never enough
I continued to burrow
and much to my dismay
I found what was below

nothing -- an abyss so endless
so cold and devoid of light
I fought to not slip through
to the edge, I clung so tight

then a hand grabbed mine
and tried to pull me out
I would finally be free
I didn't have any doubt

but soon he had to give up
he wasn't strong enough
he left me dangling there
and to fend for myself

hope has been drained away
few traces left in me
each day I grow more weary
all this, no one seems to see

with my last ounce of strength
I reach up, but I just can't win
what is there left for me to do
except give up and just fall in? [comments] => 3 [counter] => 209 [topic] => 61 [informant] => lanna047 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 15 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => selfstruggles )

excellent, powerful, and emotional write. well just going farther down does nothing until you reach rock bottom, to where you can only go up. so if you want to make that long journey than go ahead. but hold on for the shorter route out of the aybss. =]

hey, i really liked that. it was really good and I
have been in that exact place many times before.
don't give up and fall in, even though that seems
the easiest and only thing left.

you did a really good job on describing things and
I could feel myself in that position again. nice work
