Here we go with the same old sleaze
That brings America to its knees
Corrupt Republicans using fear
Talking hatred with a sneer

Is this the image America wants?
Sleazy politicians and ugly taunts?
Bush and his people throw this stuff
Showing themselves as base enough

Cheney is from times past a liar
Now he throws more fuel on the fire
He’s willing to say ANYTHING to win
Any lie will do, masked with a grin

Is this the image America wants?
Sleazy politicians and ugly taunts?
Bush and his people throw this stuff
Showing themselves as base enough

The Swift Boat men have shown the way
To distort the truth in all they say
To prostitute their honour for a vote
They peddle lies with a sneering note

This is the sleazy Republicans at work
Telling lies with a smirk
Ugly rumour and nasty ways
Spreading filth all their days

Is this the image America wants?
Sleazy politicians and ugly taunts?
Bush and his people throw this stuff
Showing themselves as base enough

Do you perhaps know another word you could use along with sleaze? It seemed repetative after awhile.
synonyms are, cheapness, tackiness..just a couple. I'm not political. Bush is an idiot, Kerry looks and acts no better. Our choices are very limited...It's like shopping in a thrift store...

Good poem. I completely agree, escpecially since I made a new friend who is completely anti-republican, and I was never so political until I met her, when she showed me just how much I can dislike a certain political party. Very good job! ^_^

I think there's no better defamation than 'sleazy' to describe modern politics, and politicians. Less sleaze, if you please.

Keep writing.
