I smell a cindery needing
burnt brick is the color of
your eyes sometimes, in the light
So I curve the neck to see charcol
dustily napeing your meaning
I taste fire lapping at your heart
the edges where you dissolved
then there your remainder stays
cold ash, floating and resting
barely implying the flesh
you've been dying in.

peel away
the grape leaves
your mind a dolma
with rasins and okra
your rain meters short out
on young coconut milk
and the two of our conspiracy
{me and our gripping baby}
we connive spritely inutero
he tells me all the secrets
you've been hiding

there are things I left
in the tombs of the pharohs
onyx stegasaurus
gawdy on my neck
it walks around in the sand
and your plam sweats
around a piece of lime stone
our baby has told me
all of your secrets
I don't care about
the measure of the rain
while parched in the desert
your hurricanes

"onyx stegasaurus

Stegasauri are my favourite dinosaur. There's a throwaway fact.

Entertaining . . . and intriguing. Our gripping baby would agree, i'm sure.

Interesting. Like the use of metaphors here.
