Too long have I felt in so much pain,
It hurt to take in any internal breath,
After all the trauma there was nothing left.

But an fragile, broken piece of a girl,
Who hated everything in the cruel world,
Including what she saw inside the mirror,
There was no self love there, not even a glimmer.

Now I can look without feeling sick,
I am still figuring out what makes me tick,
I know that it won’t all come straight back,
It’s not just given I’ll have to learn the knack.

I need to focus on the present, live in the now,
But at this moment I am not sure how,
Which is why I am asking for some help?
Instead of sitting & sobbing on the shelf.

Life is a precious gift that is passing me by,
No time left to sit here & cry,
I must get up & never again lay down,
I have a lot of love I shouldn’t wear a frown.

Realising that I have been very selfish,
Is not any easy digested type of dish,
But for too long have I thought of just me,
My depression has also kept you from being free.

Pixie your poem has alot of positivity awaiting to embark.

You will get there in small little steps. But you will get there.

We all handle trauma and pain differently but regardless that ivy can choke out any good that comes into our lives.

I see a bright spirit beneath your skin that is capable of showing and giving enormous amounts of love. Don't let the pain rule your life----instead use it as a reason to make your life on a level above the standard bar.

Love, hold onto happiness, find solace in contentment and never ever stop writing.

Breathe in, there's a big world out there.

Fantastic poem.

Kie
