the busyness of what we don't have in the country
excited to shop and go up all the lifts
and come home with all the lovely gifts

Went in the city up and down the malls
walking fast and past the silver balls
and into a shop with an escalator so tall
I did not know that I was about to fall

looking back I wish I never wore that dress
usually I wear my favourite jeans -so comfy and less stress
my hubby said stay here below
taking Joel is way too slow

Pushing the pram towards the moving stairs
there was a sign "no prams allowed" I thought to myself "Who cares"
but I wanted to see all the clothes up the top
and disobeyed the sign and headed up to -that shop

my mother in law held the handles of the pram so tight
and I the front part of the footrest -it seemed alright
up went I but not the the pram with my son
my mother in law stayed put and I fell backwards -I felt like a tonne

with my legs wiggling up in the air I was trying not to fight
getting up from my back was hard -gee I looked a sight
screaming help me, help me
my hubby walked away embarrassed hey- he didn't see

finally a stranger helped me and made sure I was okay
I replaced my blood ripped dress for a new one- that day
brushing myself off to look half decent my back felt like fire
looking into the mirror later my hair looked like wire

so I think those signs are there for a reason
maybe others had done the same thing this season
I thank that lady so much for her concern
as for my hubby embarrassment is no excuse for his- no return!

I smiled when reading your poem. It was funny, although i'm sorry to hear of your demise.

I think you write very well, you express your thoughts to words in an excellent manner. I saw some spelling errors and if you fixed those it would be perfect.

Well done .

Kie
