That echo into the night skies,
I can I hear them in my sleep,
I hear the souls as they silently weep.

They haunt my sleep every night,
Take a hold on my sanity so tight,
Make me feel like I am falling,
Into an abyss I can still hear the calling.

I try to stop it, I cover my ears,
But they have found me through my fears,
The screams become louder & close,
Feel like I have been touched by a ghost.

In the total pitch black,
I can hear the sound as they rap,
Upon the windows of my mind,
Didn’t take them long for me to find.

I try to run but they do follow,
After me into the sleepy hollow,
Fear causes me to quicken my pace,
These types of demons I don’t want to face.

Distant Cries

Can you hear the distant cries?
That echo into the night skies,
I can I hear them in my sleep,

Hear them indeed, I do. Though I believe the songs and whispers to each of us that do "hear" is different. Otherwise our expressions would be the same and our understanding of each other would be increased. I know not for whom I feel more sorrow, those that do not hear, or those that do and still deny.
