Array ( [sid] => 62039 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Created Self [time] => 2004-08-31 10:51:57 [hometext] => This poem is about self esteem, the importance of liking ourselves. I hope you will read and comment. [bodytext] => Who am I we often ask ourselves
When searching for our meaning
Our quest for a clear and personal identity
Is often an understanding that is fleeting

When we use secular concepts to define ourselves
We often get lost as to who we are
For those values do not seem to satisfy
The essence that we can see from afar

For the One who created us
Is where we draw our value from
More then producer and achiever we are
For our source is from Him that we come

And as creations we are as He made us
So that is what makes us so valuable you see
As the Lord Almighty has crafted us
Into a creation that we can be proud to be

There is no need to compare to others
As we each are loved and uniquely crafted
By the power of the Holy Spirit we were made
And only then did He say where we were drafted

Finally after careful consideration we were set free
To be His loving subjects and servants
To spread His Word, plus love and serve each other
And in our efforts we were to be quite fervent

For that is the answer to our question you see
From where does our meaning and identity come
Why, it is the Lord who gives us Faith and Love
What could be more valuable then to know that's where we are from [comments] => 4 [counter] => 164 [topic] => 19 [informant] => Willofree [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => InspirationalPoems )

We can all relate to this one. Heck half of my poems seem based on the self esteem factor, negative or positive. This is a well thought out poem with great meaning. Well done.
Angel always...joni
